Dear Tybee Breeze:

I just wanted to extend a special thank you to Randy “Hatman” Smith for allowing my daughter Eden the privilege of performing with him New Year’s Eve at Stingray’s. Eden had a great time, and we loved the food at Stingray’s.

We will definitely be back when we head down again this spring. My family and I celebrated the New Year on Tybee and we had a blast! My husband, son and I participated in the Polar Plunge, and we loved it. We plan to be there for the plunge next year as well. For the past 5 years we have been vacationing to Tybee, and it has become our 2nd home. We love it so much, and always are made to feel welcomed. The people on Tybee are always so friendly and we always feel like Tybee is “home.” We plan on retiring to Tybee, but for now we’ll just continue to visit every spring and any other time we get a chance. Thank you to everyone who keeps Tybee clean, safe and a great place to visit. Our home may be in Illinois, but our hearts are in Tybee. Thanks again for the wonderful fireworks display on New Year’s Eve, and for the great southern hospitality that we always receive while on Tybee.

See you all again in March!

My wife and I just got back from a week on Tybee.  Out of the seven days we were there, we ate at Sting Ray's four evenings.  The other restaurants we tried did not compare -- we now understand why you were voted as having the best seafood on the island.  This is an assessment we concur with.  In fact, the fried shrimp was the best we have ever eaten (and we have eaten shrimp all over the east and west coasts).  I inquired about the batter, and was told it has rice flour and cornmeal in it.  A search on the internet for a recipe with these ingredients has been fruitless, so I am hoping you can share the formula; or, if it is an "off the shelf" coating who makes it.
We are in the western portion of Virginia (Roanoke) and the only good seafood we get is what we fix ourselves.  We will be forever grateful for the batter information, and will tell all our friends headed for the Georgia coast that Sting Ray's on Tybee is the place to eat.
We will be back to see you.

I would like to tell you, I visited Stingrays a few weeks ago. My family and I loved it. Especially those very good but powerful margaritas! I would like to know if you ship your food? I thought all the seafood we had was exceptional! I especially fell in love with the crab cakes. Please let me know.
Sincerely,
Dave
